About
The heart behind the fragments
Mālō e lelei, my name is Vavatau. I’m from the villages of Kolomotuʻa, Haʻafeva, and Holopeka. I created this space as a way to reconnect with my language. What started as learning words became something deeper, a way to understand myself through Tongan.
This is not a dictionary. This is a collection of meaning, feeling, and lived experience. Some things might not make sense straight away. Some things might hit. Some things might not and that’s fine. I think this is just me… learning to make sense of myself in my own language.
